Testosterone is the male hormone responsible for severe hair fall. The enzyme present in hair follicles, 5 alpha-reductase converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone(DHT). This DHT leads to hair loss. 

Some medical conditions

Many cases of hair fall are associated with medical conditions like heart diseases, thyroid diseases, high blood pressure and scalp infections. 

Medications used in treatment

A variety of drugs used in treatment of various diseases can cause hair loss. These diseases include arthritis, depression, cancer and high blood pressure.

Some stressful events

Some physical and emotional shock leads to hair loss. For example a death in a family, extreme weight loss and excess workload.

Deficiency of nutritions

Deficiency of many nutritions leads to severe hair fall. These nutrients include proteins, iron, zinc, niacin selenium, fatty acids, Vitamin A, D, E and biotin.

Regularly wash your hair

Wash your hair regularly using a mild shampoo to keep your hair and scalp clean. Moreover, it reduces the risk of infections and dandruff.

Avoid brushing wet hair

Your hair is in the weakest state when they are wet. Avoid brushing them wet, as they increase the risk of hair thinning.

Reduce alcohol consumption

Excess alcohol consumption may lead to hair fall. It leads to many hormonal imbalances and nutrient deficiency. 

Avoid stress

Studies show that stress leads to severe hair fall. It pushes hair follicles into a resting phrase. It restricts hair growth and causes hair thinning.

Choose your hair care cosmetic wisely. Go for natural oil, shampoo and conditioners. Chemicals containing cosmetics cause hair damage and many hair problems including hair loss.
